What types of damage to my YourLink Internet hardware does LinkShield actually cover?
The LinkShield Protection Plan ("LinkShield") is an optional protection plan which provides diagnostic services and repair or replacement of Provider owned Hardware rented to the Customer, and Customer-owned Hardware purchased by the Customer from the Provider, in the event of damage to such Hardware resulting directly from a "Force majeure" event. For the purposes of LinkShield, YourLink defines "Force majeure" as events of fire; lightning; flood; tornado; hail; blizzard; extreme wind, heat or cold; earthquake; explosion; acts of God; and power surge and/or spike, provided that Surge Protection bars are used by the Customer.
Does LinkShield cover both parts & labour required to replace or repair my YourLink hardware, as a result of "Force majeure" damage?
Yes, LinkShield covers both parts & labour required to repair and/or replace subscriber's hardware damaged as a direct & confirmed result (of which confirmation must be performed by an authorized YourLink technician) of a "Force majeure" event, as defined above by YourLink Inc.
Does my LinkShield plan cover more than one set of hardware that I may be renting or have purchased? And, is the coverage applicable to both owned and rented hardware?
One LinkShield plan at $3.99/month (or $40.00/year prepaid),covers one (1) set of YourLink hardware (see complete parts list below for both Motorola & Vecima systems). If there are two (2) or more Internet hardware sets at one (1) location or site, one (1) LinkShield coverage plan must be in place for each and every YourLink hardware sets.
Yes, the LinkShield plan covers both parts & labour required to repair and/or replace both subscriber owned and rented hardware,as a result of "Force majeure" damage, as defined above.
How do I make my initial claim if my Internet hardware is damaged/inoperable due to a "Force majeure" event covered by LinkShield?
You must call our Customer Support line at 1-888-671-5465, and a Customer Service Rep will first confirm that your LinkShield coverage is in fact in place and current. Then he/she will ask you a number of questions to confirm the cause and that it is directly related to a "Force majeure" event. If this is confirmed on the phone, the CSR will then generate a work order to deploy a YourLink technician or Dealer to do an on-site evaluation to physically assess the damage for final confirmation of "Force majeure" causes. If this final confirmation is made, the YourLink Technician or Dealer will be prepared to repair or replace the affected hardware, in order to adequately restore your service, which would be completely covered by your LinkShield plan (all parts & labour).
What if I decide to cancel my LinkShield coverage? What about fees & procedures?
Should you choose to withdraw from LinkShield within the first twelve (12) months of coverage, a $20.00 administration fee and a minimum of three (3) months of service at $3.99/month will be charged. To cancel your LinkShield coverage, you're required to email us at linkshield@yourlink.ca, and we will acknowledge your request within two (2) business days via a return email, and your cancellation would be effective on that same day. YourLink will also adjust your billing accordingly, including any administration and/or cancellation fees, if applicable.
Is there a limit to the number of LinkShield claims I can make?
Yes, you may make a maximum of two (2) LinkShield claims per twelve (12) month period, commencing on the date of this Agreement, and renewing on each anniversary date. YourLink reserves the right to review all LinkShield claims prior to approval.
